How much does it cost to build a basketball court in New Jersey?

Like most construction projects, costs will vary depending on several factors such as the size of the court, excavation requirements, the type of base and the quantity and quality of its accessories. Contact us and we will be happy to provide a free site survey and no obligation quote.

What kind of base do you recommend for most courts?

For most courts we recommend using a 4” thick concrete base with #4 rebar reinforcement. Concrete bases tend to be extremely durable and maximise playability. Asphalt surfaces offer similar performance but may have a shorter lifespan than concrete.

Do I need a permit to build a court in my yard?

Local towns or neighborhoods may have regulations related to the size of your court and its proximity to the property line as well as other restrictions so it is wise to contact your local govt and/or homeowners association. It is also wise to consider how drainage, lighting and fencing may impact your neighbors so that you can avoid any future issues.

How do I maintain the asphalt in my parking lot?

We would recommend cleaning the asphalt regularly. This includes brushing or sweeping away garbage and debris and removing chemical and oil stains as soon as possible. Asphalt patching and prompt repair of potholes also helps to maintain the parking lot by not allowing potholes to grow and cover a larger potion of the asphalt. Adding a new sealcoat every three to five years will reduce the need for major repairs.

Does crack filling make the cracks disappear?

No. Asphalt patching temporarily mends the structural integrity of the pavement by filling the cracks but it doesn’t make them disappear. The cracks are still in the asphalt and only a complete repaving job will get rid of them.

What causes pavement cracks?

Pavement cracks form when the base or subgrade weakens and is unable to support the amount/weight of traffic. If your pavement has developed cracks, we can help. Call us today for a free quote.

How frequently can cracks be sealed?

Cracks can’t – or shouldn’t be sealed until they have been filled and repaired. Crack repair is recommended at least once a year as an essential form of asphalt repairs and maintenance.
