What is a retaining wall?
Retaining walls are structures intended to withhold soil, rocks and other natural elements laterally, restraining the materials to a slope they would not otherwise keep. Traditional gravity walls rely on their own weight and setback to support the soil’s pressure behind them, preventing them from toppling over.

What kind of base do you recommend for most courts?
For most courts we recommend using a 4” thick concrete base with #4 rebar reinforcement. Concrete bases tend to be extremely durable and maximise playability. Asphalt surfaces offer similar performance but may have a shorter lifespan than concrete.
Do I need a permit to build a court in my yard?

Does crack filling make the cracks disappear?
No. Asphalt patching temporarily mends the structural integrity of the pavement by filling the cracks but it doesn’t make them disappear. The cracks are still in the asphalt and only a complete repaving job will get rid of them.
What causes pavement cracks?

How frequently can cracks be sealed?
Cracks can’t – or shouldn’t be sealed until they have been filled and repaired. Crack repair is recommended at least once a year as an essential form of asphalt repairs and maintenance.
